Boy in Cowboy Hat Shining Flashlight at an Ant
Coloring guide
A smiling boy stands with his head turned toward the side, wearing a wide-brimmed hat with a wavy, ruffled edge. He has on a short-sleeved t-shirt, loose shorts, ankle socks and sneakers with laces. One hand holds a flashlight with a few small buttons on the handle, and two long lines stretch out from the lamp end to show the beam. In the light sits a simple ant made of three oval body parts, with six thin legs and two antennae. His other arm hangs relaxed at his side. The big open shapes on the shirt, shorts and ant are easy for small hands to fill in. Try coloring the beam area in soft yellow, then talk about the three body sections of an ant. This free printable works well for a bug-themed lesson or a quiet afternoon.
