In this sweet garden, a smiling butterfly perches on a striped lollipop and a little ladybug rests on top of a heart-patterned one. Eight lollipops grow on tall leafy stems, each with its own design: a big center swirl, polka dots, a star ringed by smaller stars, curvy stripes, wavy lines, and two smaller spirals. Grassy tufts and soft, bumpy bushes run along the bottom, with a few pebbles on the ground. Large shapes and clean lines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big swirl lollipop head: color the outer spiral red and the center swirl orange, leaving the heart and star details for later.
- 2Fill the striped candy on the left with bright yellow, pink and coral red stripes, and the blue striped candy in the middle with royal blue and light blue waves.
- 3Color the heart candy on the right with soft pink and rose pink rings, leaving the heart center white, then add the star candy in golden yellow with an orange center star.
- 4Paint all the green leaves and grass tufts with leaf green, plus the stick stems of every lollipop.
- 5Color the butterfly with bright yellow and hot pink wings and purple body, and the ladybug shell in red.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading on the swirl candies with a slightly darker shade of the same color, and leave the small background spaces white for a light, airy look.
