Cartoon Boy Leaping to Dunk a Basketball

A cartoon boy jumps high in the air beside a basketball hoop, one hand reaching down over the rim while his other arm stretches out wide behind him. He wears a sleeveless jersey, baggy shorts, and chunky shoes, and his knees are bent as if he just launched off the ground. A round ball hangs in the air just under the net, and a few motion lines near his head and below his feet make the jump feel fast. The hoop has a crisscross net and is attached to a tall pole with a padded section. A large oval shape on the ground marks the court. This printable page works well for a sports unit or a rainy day. Try coloring the jersey and shorts in a favorite team's colors, then talk about how the motion lines show movement and speed.
