Kicking up dust on a rocky desert trail, this off-road buggy has big expressive eyes and chunky knobby tires. There are four round lights on the roof and a small spoiler on the back, and the grille and headlights add lots of fun shapes. Behind the truck you'll see two tall cactuses, flat-topped rock mesas and a big sun with long rays, while small stones, desert shrubs and puffy dust clouds are scattered on the ground. Older kids can work on the tire treads and the curved stripes on the hood, and the large shapes are fine for younger ones. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big desert areas: color the sky-facing sand and ground in sandy orange and peach orange, and the dusty clouds on the left and bottom in pale sand.
- 2Color the mesas and rock formations in rust orange, then fill the cactus and small bushes with leaf green and the sun with golden yellow.
- 3Fill the buggy body with bright red, leaving the windshield glare and the eye whites white, and color the windshield in sky blue with ice blue headlights.
- 4Add the golden yellow stripes across the hood and the light bar on the roof, and use brick red for the windshield frame.
- 5Color the tires in charcoal gray, leaving the small hubcap circles light, and fill the bumper, grille and rocks in steel gray.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading on the tires and the sand with a slightly darker tone of the same color for depth.
