Cat in a Cardigan Teaching a Rainbow Lesson, Teacher Appreciation Day
Coloring guide
A smiling cat stands upright in a knit cardigan with buttons and two pockets. One paw holds a long ruler and the other rests on a small easel, where a rainbow arches over two fluffy clouds. The classroom has plenty to color: a window with clouds outside, a framed star picture on the wall, a cup of pencils on a bookshelf with books, a stack of books on a desk, and a round rug under the cat's feet. It's a nice page for a child making a thank-you card or gift for a favorite teacher. A bright teal or red cardigan looks good, and the rainbow can get its classic stripes so it shows up against the easel. The cat's stripes and the pencil cup are great spots for crayons or markers. Kids who like Teacher Appreciation Day coloring pages usually enjoy Halloween and Gingerbread House too.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- apricot orange
- sky blue
- bright blue
- wood tan
- chestnut brown
- pale cream
- fresh green
- golden yellow
- blush pink
- tomato red
- lavender purple
- royal blue
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the cat's face, ears, tail, legs and paws in apricot orange, and add tangerine orange stripes on the forehead and cheeks.
- 2Fill the cardigan, its pockets and hem in bright blue, and color the chair and books on the right in sky blue and chestnut brown.
- 3Color the window glass and bushes outside in sky blue and fresh green, then add wood tan for the window frames, sills and easel.
- 4Make the rainbow with tomato red on the outside, golden yellow, fresh green and bright blue bands, and color the clouds in white.
- 5Add golden yellow to the ruler and star, pale cream to the shirt and paw, and blush pink inside the ears.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading under the cat and rug with a slightly darker tone of the same colors for depth. Leave the eye whites, cloud shines and the background wall white.
