A round, smiling fish with one big shiny eye swims past four rising bubbles on this simple color by number page. Three curved stripes on its body are numbered 1, 2 and 3 from front to back. Both the top fin and the bottom fin are 1, the tail fin is 2, and the little side fin is 3. Down at the bottom, two wavy seaweed leaves are numbered 2 and 3. Big shapes and easy-to-read numbers make it a nice choice for preschoolers and early elementary kids learning to match numbers to colors. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the front of the fish: color the head and the two yellow stripes with golden yellow, leaving the belly section yellow too.
- 2Fill the middle stripe and the thin stripe at the back of the body with tangerine orange.
- 3Color the top fin, bottom fin, side fin and the tail with sky blue, adding the thin ridge lines in the fins as you go.
- 4Paint the bubbles floating on the left with sky blue, from the biggest down to the tiniest one.
- 5Leave the eye white, then fill the pupil in black and add a small white shine on it. Optional: add a light touch of darker yellow along the edges of the body for a bit of depth.
