Mushroom Picking in the Forest with a Wicker Basket
Coloring guide
Crouched down in the woods, a smiling child in a bucket hat, hooded jacket and tall rubber boots reaches for a mushroom. One hand holds a woven wicker basket already full of mushrooms, and the other holds a freshly picked one. Big tree trunks rise behind with leafy branches and bushes. Ferns, grass tufts and fallen leaves cover the ground, and more mushrooms grow up front, including a spotted toadstool-style cap and several small ones. Lines are clear and fairly large, so it suits kids who like some detail without tiny spaces. Soft browns and tans work for the basket and mushroom caps. Bright yellow or red rain boots will help the child stand out against all the green ferns. Browse more Forest coloring pages, or explore City and Solar System & Space for even more fun.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the girl's face, hands and neck in peach skin, leaving the eye whites and the smile's teeth white.
- 2Color the hat crown and brim in sunny yellow, then add the bright red hat band across the middle.
- 3Fill the jacket, sleeves and hood in bright red, and the jeans in denim blue.
- 4Color both rain boots in sunny yellow and the boot soles in warm brown, then add the hair in warm brown.
- 5Use light grass green for the bushes and grass, and forest green for the ferns and leaves, leaving the sky background and the mushroom stems cream white.
- 6Finish the mushrooms: the big left and small front caps in terracotta brown, the spotted red cap on the right, and the basket in terracotta brown. Optional: add slightly darker strokes on one side of the trunks and boots for depth.
