Circle of Four Friends Holding Hands for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Coloring guide
Four smiling kids stand in a ring on a grassy lawn, holding hands, with a big round sun and its rays drawn above them. Two children are at the top of the circle and two at the bottom. One has short tousled hair, one wears a curly puff bun on top of her head, one has long straight hair with a little clip, and one has short curly hair. Their outfits include short-sleeved shirts, a skirt, a collared dress and shorts, along with sturdy shoes. Small tufts of grass are scattered around the page. The theme of friendship and togetherness suits Martin Luther King Jr. Day lessons, and the large open shapes are easy for small hands. Give each child a different skin tone and a bright outfit, then go warm yellow on the sun and fresh green on the grass. It's free to print or download, no sign-up needed. Add this to your Martin Luther King Jr. Day coloring page collection, alongside Christmas and Halloween.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big sun in golden yellow, filling the circle and its rays, and leave the little gaps around the edges clean.
- 2Color the skin areas of all four friends in light peach and warm orange, using warm orange for the deeper skin tones on the right girl and the right boy.
- 3Fill the hair: dark brown for the right girl and the right boy, and chocolate brown for the boy, with light purple for the left girl's hair details if you like. Keep the white hairband highlights unfilled.
- 4Color the clothes: sky blue for the boy's shirt and shorts, bubblegum pink for the right girl's dress, kelly green for the right boy's shirt, and light purple for the left girl's top and skirt. Leave the white collars white.
- 5Add the shoes and sandals in royal blue, kelly green, bubblegum pink and light purple, then color the khaki tan shorts and the coral pink mouths. Leave the socks and eye whites white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading with a deeper shade of the same color along the edges of the clothes and hair to make the figures pop.
