Five cartoon fish swim in a loose circle, and under each one is a dotted number from 1 through 5, waiting to be traced with a pencil or crayon. All of them have big round eyes and a friendly smile, plus a pattern of their own: a crosshatch grid, spots along the back, curved stripes, scalloped bands, and a simple round patch near the face. Small bubbles drift between the fish, and the tails and fins have swirly lines. It's handy for early number practice, since kids trace each digit and then color the matching fish. Bright oranges and yellows look nice on the scaled fish, while cool blues and purples suit the fins and tails. Print it at home, no sign-up needed. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big bodies: color the left fish golden yellow, the top fish orange, the right fish bright blue, the bottom left fish orange, and the purple fish lavender purple.
- 2Add the tails and fins: use grass green for the left fish tail and fins, orange for the top fish tail, the right fish tail and the bottom fish tail, and golden yellow for the purple fish tail and fins.
- 3Color the top fins and the stripes: use light blue for the top fish fin and the bottom right bubble, sky blue for the top fish top fin, and light blue for the right fish stripes.
- 4Leave the eye whites, the white stripe on the bottom fish and the eye ring on the purple fish white, then add a red mouth on the bottom fish.
- 5Optional: Add a little shading on the bodies with a slightly darker shade of each color to make the fish look rounder.
