A small open box labeled CRAYONS sits tilted in the middle of the page, with its top flap curved upward. Eight loose crayons are scattered around it at different angles. Three float across the top, one sits along the right side, and three are spread along the bottom. One more leans across the front of the box with its pointed tip aimed at the lower left. Each crayon has a pointed or flat end, a paper wrapper, and a thin band near the tip. The shapes are big and simple, so small hands can color them easily. For a back to school activity, let kids give each crayon a different color, then color the box to match. Counting the crayons out loud is a nice extra step for younger learners. This page is free and printable, so it works well for a first day of class.
