Pigtailed Girl and Curly-Haired Boy Strolling Through the Park

A girl and a boy walk side by side across a grassy field, both smiling and glancing at each other. She has pigtails with bows and a backpack, and wears a sweater with a ribbed hem and collar. He has curly hair, a backpack, a zip-up jacket, and pants with round patches on the knees. Behind them are two big leafy trees, one with simple sprout-like leaves and one with oak-style leaves, plus rolling hills and a smiling flower-shaped sun. Along the ground you can spot a bee, a butterfly, a worm, a small hedgehog, a swirl-centered flower, and little grass tufts. This free page is a nice choice for the first week of school. Try coloring the two trees in different seasonal palettes, then ask kids which season each tree shows and why.
