Crescent Moon Flight With a Smiling Witch
Coloring guide
A cheerful little witch with long, wind-swept hair grins as she zooms across the page, holding her broomstick with both hands. She has a tall pointed hat with a big square buckle, a flowing cape, a loose tunic with wide sleeves and sturdy boots with cuffed tops. A thick bundle of bristles streams out behind the broom. Up in one corner there's a crescent moon, and three puffy clouds are scattered around the sky. Bold, clean outlines and big open spaces suit kids who like coloring larger shapes, while the hair and bristles give older children some finer work. A deep purple hat and cape with a golden buckle and moon would make a nice contrast. Grab this free printable for a screen-free activity at home. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- violet purple
- chestnut brown
- orchid pink
- sky blue
- golden yellow
- light peach
- tangerine orange
- dark brown
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the three fluffy clouds and the bottom cloud in sky blue, leaving the moon and background white.
- 2Color the long flowing hair, bangs, broom handle and both boots in chestnut brown, then add dark brown to the boot cuffs and the hair behind the ear.
- 3Fill the pointed hat, hat brim and the wide cape in violet purple, keeping the crescent moon white.
- 4Color the witch's dress and sleeves in orchid pink, and the face, neck and both hands in light peach.
- 5Use golden yellow for the broom bristles, hat band, buckle edges, round brooch and the stockings, and tangerine orange for the one visible leg.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of the same colors along the hair and cape to suggest folds, and leave the eye whites and smile highlights white.
