This happy little bunny stands up on its hind legs and squeezes a big decorated egg against its side, with one paw around the top and the other holding the bottom. It has large shiny eyes, a tiny nose and a sweet smile. One floppy ear flops backward, the other stretches out sideways, and a fluffy round tail peeks out from behind. The egg is clearly the star, with zigzag bands, a row of diamonds with smaller diamonds inside, and a swirly scroll pattern near the bottom. There's no background, which makes it easy to print for a quiet Easter afternoon. Soft pink or lavender would look good on the diamonds, with yellow or turquoise on the swirls, and a white or light gray bunny lets the egg pop. Crayons suit the big shapes, and older kids can use fine-tipped markers on the patterns. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big brown areas: color the bunny head, body, ears and tail with caramel brown, leaving the inner ears for later.
- 2Fill the inner parts of both ears with baby pink, and color the bunny's cream paws, back leg, belly and front foot with cream.
- 3Color the top of the egg and the edge details in golden yellow, then add the lavender purple panels between the blue stripes.
- 4Paint the three blue stripes around the egg with sky blue, and fill the bottom of the egg with leaf green and the swirls with hot pink.
- 5Add the diamond shapes on the egg in pale apricot and golden yellow, then color the small ovals in hot pink.
- 6Finish with the rose pink nose and peach cheek on the egg. Leave the eye whites and the shine in the eyes white. Optional: add a little darker brown shading along the bunny's ears and body.
