Wearing a tall chef hat and a heart-pocket apron, a smiling little girl shakes sprinkles over a frosted cupcake and holds a small bowl of extra toppings in her other hand. She has pigtails and big sparkly eyes. Six cupcakes in paper liners sit on the counter in front of her, some topped with cherries, stars or swirls of frosting. Close by are a large mixing bowl with a spoon and hearts on the side, a jar of sprinkles tied with a bow, a heart-decorated rolling pin, and scattered star and flower sprinkles. Shelves behind her hold cookie jars, candy jars, a utensil holder with a whisk and a potted plant. A sunny window with flowers, a fence and a checkered towel finish the scene. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky and window areas: color the window sky and the cloud shapes in sky blue, leaving the cloud shapes white, then add leaf green to the trees and bushes outside.
- 2Fill the kitchen background with pale blue on the walls and cabinets, and use very pale blue on the top shelf area and jars.
- 3Color the girl's skin in peach skin, including her face, neck, and hands, leaving the eye whites and teeth white.
- 4Add warm brown to her hair and pigtails, then color the chef hat white with a light touch of shading along its edges if you like.
- 5Color the apron in bubblegum pink, with the heart in rose pink, and fill the wooden board and shelves in caramel orange.
- 6Finish with the red bowl, sunny yellow rolling pin, and ivory cream frosting on the cupcakes, leaving the cupcake liners and sprinkles in their light tones. Optional: add a little darker shading to the hair and wooden board for depth.
