Under a big leafy tree, a checkered picnic blanket is spread out and ready for tea. On it you'll find a woven wicker basket with a plaid cloth over the lid, a round flowery teapot and two matching teacups on saucers. In front, a plate holds four frosted cupcakes, and two of them wear cherries. Three smiling butterflies flutter overhead with dotted flight trails. Daisy-like flowers and tufts of grass dot the lawn, and bushes line the background. There are small spots for careful coloring and bigger ones for bold strokes. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the large grass areas and bushes with lime green, and the tree trunk with chocolate brown.
- 2Color the teapot, both teacups and their saucers with sky blue, leaving the small flower shapes and highlights white.
- 3Fill the basket weave and lid with golden tan, then color the folded cloth with coral and tomato red, keeping the light spots white.
- 4Color the cupcake frosting with baby pink and the blanket squares with coral and pale blush in a checkered pattern, leaving the other squares white.
- 5Add the butterflies in lemon yellow and orange gold, and the small butterfly in rose pink.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the basket weave and teapot edges for a bit more depth.
