A baby bat with big eyes hangs upside down from a round wall hook, its two thin feet reaching up to the peg. The face looks like a mask, with a rounded shape, two tall pointed ears with inner details, large circular eyes with little lashes, a tiny snout and a sweet smile. The wings spread wide on both sides, with scalloped edges and long finger-like ribs that make fun little sections to color. A crescent moon and five small stars of different sizes fill the night sky around it. Bold, clean lines make it a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and it prints well as a free PDF. Soft purple or deep blue wings, pink ears and nose, and a bright yellow moon and stars give the night scene a glow. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the bat's head, the rope tips and the top edges of both wings with deep violet, leaving the background and the moon white.
- 2Color the two big wing panels, the lower wing sections and the wing bases with lavender purple.
- 3Color the inner parts of both ears and the small nose baby pink.
- 4Fill the round disc at the top with caramel brown, and the curled hook shape with golden yellow.
- 5Color the stars golden yellow and fill both eyes charcoal gray, leaving a small white shine if you like.
- 6Optional: add light diagonal strokes on the wings and head in a darker shade to give a textured, pencil-like look.
