Cake Slice Sticking Its Tongue Out with Swirly Blush

A slice of cake with a happy face sits at the center of the page, drawn in a chunky kawaii style. It has two big round shiny eyes, a wide open mouth with a little tongue sticking out, and small swirl-shaped blush marks on both cheeks. On top is a wavy ruffle of frosting along the back edge, plus a round cherry or berry sitting on a small frosting swirl. Curved stripes run across the top of the slice. In the upper left, a speech bubble holds a single heart, so the cake seems to be saying how much it loves being a treat. The thick outlines are easy for small hands to follow. Try coloring the heart bright red, then pick a flavor for the slice, like pink strawberry or chocolate brown, and ask kids to decide what the cherry and frosting should look like.
