Baby Owl Swooping in Front of a Full Moon

Coloring guide
A big-eyed baby owl glides toward you with both wings stretched out, and a large round moon covered in crater circles glows right behind its head. Look closely and you will spot a tiny open beak, tufted ear feathers, a fluffy chest marked with little V-shaped feathers and two clawed feet tucked under the tail. Four small outlined stars drift in the corners. The wings are full of rounded feathers, so kids get lots of satisfying sections to fill in, while the moon and stars are easy for little hands. Pale yellow works for the moon and bright gold for the stars, with soft browns and tans on the feathers. It's a free printable that fits a bedtime art session or a calm classroom activity. Kids who like Owl coloring pages usually enjoy Puppies and Cats too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the full moon in lemon yellow, then fill its craters and spots with golden yellow.
- 2Fill the owl's face, head tuft and round body with soft cream, leaving the two big eye whites untouched so they stay white.
- 3Color the wing feathers in a pattern of warm brown and soft cream, adding light tan to the upper wing tips and near the wing bases.
- 4Fill the tail feathers with light tan and warm brown, then color the owl's feet and talons and the four stars with golden yellow.
- 5Optional: add a few light tan shading lines along the chest feathers and the wing edges to give the owl more depth.
