On this detailed page, Maui stands on a sailing canoe with one arm thrown up in the air and the other hand gripping a tall pointed pole. The big triangular sail has a spiral in the middle, a fun centerpiece to color. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big canoe hull and deck areas in wood brown, leaving the carved wave border and the seat boxes for later.
- 2Fill the large main sail and its smaller sections in sand beige, keeping the sail edges clean.
- 3Color the spiral symbol on the sail with rust orange on the outer curves and peach orange on the inner curl, leaving small white gaps for a lively look.
- 4Add the background patterns in deep teal, turquoise, and emerald green, then use golden yellow for the bands between them.
- 5Paint the sea and the fish shapes at the bottom right in ocean blue and light blue, and add navy blue to the darker background parts.
- 6Finish with the carved wave border along the canoe in pale cream and the small details in dark brown. Optional: Add a little extra shading with a darker shade of each color to make the scene pop.
