A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background: color the hills and the open grass in grass green, then add forest green to the bushes and lime green to the small grass tufts and path edges.
- 2Color the robot's main body in golden yellow: the torso, shoulders, arms, legs and digger bucket, leaving the eye whites white.
- 3Fill the helmet and the boy's hard hat in bright yellow, and paint the robot's visor and chest panel in sky blue, with the headphones and antenna in the same sky blue.
- 4Shade the tracks, rocks and the gray parts of the arms and hands with light gray and dark gray, using dark gray for the track sides and light gray for the rocks.
- 5Color the boy's jacket in orange, his pants in deep blue, his boots in brown, and his face and hands in skin peach, leaving the eye whites white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker lines on the rocks and tracks with dark slate or dark gray for extra depth, and finish with small golden details on the robot's joints.
