Bakery Window Full of Donuts and a Striped Awning
Coloring guide
The big front window of a cozy bakery holds three wooden shelves crowded with donuts, five on each shelf. No two look alike. Some have sprinkles, some have drippy icing, a few have swirly glaze lines, and a couple are filled buns with tiny faces on top. A scalloped striped awning stretches over the window, and a flower box of blooms rests on the ledge. Inside, two hanging lamps glow above a brick wall, with a small potted plant and a jar on a little shelf. Outside there's a flowerpot by the door, a leafy tree, a lamppost, a fence and a house far off. Pink, chocolate brown and sunny yellow work nicely for the glazes, and a bold color on the awning stripes makes the shop stand out. Print it free for a classroom project or a weekend craft. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the awning stripes by alternating cherry red and cream beige, starting with red at the left edge and working across the whole awning.
- 2Paint the storefront frame, the door, the lower cabinet panels and the counter edges in teal blue, leaving the door window panes for later.
- 3Fill the back brick wall, the sidewalk slabs and the sidewalk area in cream beige, and color the flower box base and rim in caramel brown.
- 4Color most of the donuts in apricot, then add the pink frosted donut, the golden yellow donut, the sky blue donut, the lavender donut and the chocolate brown donut for variety.
- 5Add the greenery in leaf green on the tree and bushes, paint the flower pot in tangerine orange, and color the lamp shades golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little pale blue shading to the window panes and light shadows under the donuts to make the display look more dimensional.
