Drive-In Movie Night With Cars Under the Moon

Pull up and park for a night at the drive-in. The big movie screen shows a large cratered full moon with little stars around it, while a crescent moon and more twinkling stars hang in the real sky above. Small cars sit in rows facing the screen. The closest one is drawn from behind, so you can see its taillights, license plate and two headrests through the rear window. Speakers stand on either side of the screen, string lights hang along a fence, and pine trees, fluffy clouds, grassy tufts and bushes fill the background. Deep navy and purple make a good night sky, soft yellow suits the moon and stars, and every car can be a different bright color. It's a free page to print for a quiet creative moment. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big grass areas in the front and along the back using leaf green, and leave the night sky and the small white license plates white.
- 2Color the movie screen cream, the screen frame charcoal gray, and the moon silver gray.
- 3Fill the trees and bushes on both sides with forest green and grass green, and add a few sage green touches for variety.
- 4Color the front red car in bright red, the car on the right in orange, and the car on the left in sky blue, leaving the front license plate white.
- 5Add light blue to the car windows and the seats, use golden yellow for the headlights, and use lemon yellow for the tail lights.
- 6Finish the background cars: yellow on the middle left, green in the middle right, gray on the far left, purple on the far right, and blue in the center. Optional: add a little darker shading under the cars to make them pop.
