Duckling and Lily Pad Easter Egg by the Pond

Coloring guide
Beside a winding pond stands a fluffy duckling with a big bow on its head, smiling down at a decorated Easter egg resting on a floating lily pad. The egg has wavy lines, a row of circles and zigzag bands, so kids get lots of small patterns to fill in. Ripples circle the lily pad, and a tall cluster of cattails with long leaves grows at the water's edge. In the background there are grass tufts and a rounded bush. The duckling has big sparkly eyes, long lashes, webbed feet and a tiny tail tuft. Soft yellow works for the duckling, pink or purple for the bow, and a rainbow of pastel stripes for the egg. This free printable is good for Easter activities at home or in class, with big shapes for little hands and fine details for older kids. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the duckling's whole body and head in lemon yellow, leaving the small shine spot in each eye white.
- 2Color the pond water and the lily pad in sky blue, plus the small pond on the right.
- 3Fill the grassy bank, bush, and grass tufts with grass green, then add the reeds in forest green.
- 4Color the cattails in cocoa brown and the tall reed blades in grass green for a cozy pond scene.
- 5Use tangerine orange for the beak and feet, and rose pink for the bow.
- 6Finish the Easter egg: lavender purple at the top and base, hot pink for the stripes, and rose pink dots. Optional: Add a little darker shading under the duckling and the egg for depth.
