Elephant Mom and Baby Walking Under the Sun
Coloring guide
A big smiling elephant strides along while her little calf trots at her side, holding the tip of a small grass tuft in its trunk. Mom has large rounded ears, bright lashed eyes and a few tufts of hair on her head. The calf gazes up at her with a happy open mouth and has a tiny tail with a curl of hair at the end. In the upper left there's a round sun with short rays, with leafy bushes down the left side and little grass patches along the ground. Large shapes and clean lines make this free printable suitable for preschoolers and early elementary kids building pencil control. Soft blue-gray for both elephants, sunny yellow for the sun and fresh greens for the bushes and grass work well. - golden yellow
- warm brown
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the sun's round center with golden yellow and leave its rays white.
- 2Color both elephants' heads, bodies, trunks, legs, and feet with gray blue, leaving the eye whites, shiny eye spots, and toenails white.
- 3Color the inside of the big ear with soft pink.
- 4Add the small brown tuft hanging near the baby elephant's trunk with warm brown.
- 5Optional: Add a little darker gray blue shading under the bellies, legs, and trunks to make the elephants look rounder.
