Fairytale Castle and Rainbow, Color by Number (Adult)
Coloring guide
Four tall towers with scalloped, fish-scale roofs and tiny pennant flags rise above a stone castle in this detailed scene. At the center is a big arched wooden door with two round knockers, and a winding cobblestone path crosses a grassy hill to reach it. Arched windows, battlements and a small gabled roof peek out between the towers. Behind the castle, a multi-banded rainbow arcs across the sky among puffy clouds, with distant mountains, pine trees and a bit of water on either side. Flowers and leafy bushes fill the foreground. All those small bricks and roof scales are ideal for older kids and adults who enjoy careful, patient coloring. Soft purples and blues on the tower roofs will stand out against warm gray stone. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the rainbow: fill the outer band with bright red, then orange, leaf green, sky blue, royal blue and orchid purple, keeping the sky inside the arch white.
- 2Color the clouds in pale blue and leave the small cloud near the castle white.
- 3Fill the castle walls, towers and gable with cream, then color the roofs and path stones in beige.
- 4Color the big arched wooden door in wood brown and the flags in golden yellow.
- 5Add the grass, bushes and trees in light green, leaf green and forest green, and color the mountains in mountain blue with white snowy peaks.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading on the stones and roofs with a slightly darker beige so the castle looks more textured.
