Fairytale Castle on a Winding Path, a Countries Coloring Page with Animals
Coloring guide
At the top of this scene sits a tall stone castle with pointed turrets. A cobblestone path winds up through the trees to its arched wooden double doors. The turret roofs have a scale pattern that's fun to color in. A three-stripe horizontal flag hangs on the front wall, and a small pennant flies from the tallest tower. Pine trees and bushes cover the hillside. Down in the lower left a spotted deer stands near some flowers, a squirrel sits on a rock at the lower right, and a little bird perches on a branch close by. In the background you'll find mountains, a river, a tiny village with a church steeple, puffy clouds and a sunburst. Slate blue turret roofs and warm brown doors would look lovely. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky: color the clouds and the sky background pale blue, leaving the sun uncolored.
- 2Color the lake and the mountains sky blue, then fill the distant hills with deep teal.
- 3Fill the castle towers, walls, gate area and flag with light stone gray, keeping the small tower windows and flag spots white.
- 4Color the deer golden brown and the boulders warm gray, then fill the path stones with sand beige.
- 5Add the trees and bushes: forest green for the tall firs, leaf green and lime green for the round bushes, and sage green for a few accents.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker shade of the same color along one side of the castle and trees to give them depth.
