Bottle-Feeding Baby Goats With a Young Farmer
Coloring guide
Seated on a hay bale, a smiling boy in a wide-brimmed hat and overalls holds a baby bottle for a little goat kid. The kid is up on its hind legs, front hooves against him, drinking away. Two more playful kids bounce across the grass in front, and small grass tufts are scattered around the page. A big barn door with a crisscross X pattern fills the background. He's wearing tall boots, and the hay bale has plenty of fringy straw lines that are fun to color. Large, clear shapes make this free printable PDF a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Try golden yellow for the hat and hay, blue for the overalls, and soft browns, tans or whites for the goats. A red barn door would make it pop. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the straw hat and the hay bale using golden yellow, leaving the hat band for later.
- 2Color the barn walls and the shirt in barn red, then fill the boy's overalls and the bottle-feeding area in denim blue and cream white.
- 3Use chocolate brown for the barn door planks, the boy's hair, and the boots, leaving the white beams of the door uncolored.
- 4Fill the boy's face and hands with warm peach, the white goat's ear with coral pink, and the brown goat with caramel brown and the gray goat with light gray.
- 5Optional: Add charcoal gray to the hooves and a little tangerine orange inside the brown goat's ear for a bit of depth, and leave the eye whites and background white.
