In this sweet farm scene, a smiling boy in a wide-brimmed hat kneels in the mud with both arms wrapped around a cheerful pig. He has overalls, a rolled-sleeve shirt and tall boots on. The pig sits upright with a big grin, floppy ears and a curly tail. Muddy puddles are splashed across the ground, and you'll also find a small tuft of grass, a wooden fence behind them and a feeding trough on the right. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the pig: fill its body, legs and hooves with pig pink, keeping the eye whites and the small shine dots white.
- 2Color the boy's skin areas (face, ears, hands and forearm) with skin peach, then fill the hat crown, brim and band with golden yellow and caramel brown.
- 3Paint the overalls in denim blue and the shirt in barn red, then add the hair in reddish brown and the boots in dark brown.
- 4Color the fence posts, rails and trough in light wood tan and caramel brown, and fill the trough water with sky blue, leaving the gaps between rails white.
- 5Fill the mud puddles and mud splashes in dark brown, add grass green to the small grass tuft, and use charcoal gray for the shadowed hooves.
- 6Optional: add a soft rose snout, bright red mouths and a little reddish brown shading on the pig and boy for extra depth.
