Stable Farmer Offering a Water Bucket to a Horse
Coloring guide
A smiling young farmer in a wide-brimmed hat, overalls, rolled-up sleeves and tall boots holds out a big bucket of water to a horse leaning over the half door of its wooden stable. The horse has a long mane and a gentle face, and it lowers its nose toward the water. Behind them are a tall pile of hay, a simple wooden fence and a few bushes, and a rooster weathervane sits on the stable roof. Small tufts of grass are scattered over the ground. Bold, clean lines make this a good page for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A warm chestnut horse, golden yellow hay and bright blue water in the bucket would look good together. Print it free for farm lessons or quiet afternoons at home. More like this: explore the Farmer, For Girls and For Kids coloring page collections.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big barn walls and gate with barn red, and keep the white beams, posts and door planks white.
- 2Fill the horse's head, neck and ears with chestnut brown, then color its flowing mane and forelock with butter yellow, leaving the eye whites white.
- 3Color the farmer's overalls and boots: denim blue for the overalls and chestnut brown for the boots, with cherry red for his shirt sleeves and collar.
- 4Color the hay bale and the hat with sunflower yellow, then fill the bucket and the bushes and background with leaf green.
- 5Color the roof with charcoal gray and the pale gray edge, and add lime green grass tufts at the bottom. Leave the weathervane and the fence white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the horse's neck and the barn walls, and keep the bucket's water highlight white.
