Fawn Nose to Nose With a Rabbit in the Meadow

A young spotted fawn lies on the grass nose to nose with a small rabbit, while a taller doe leans her head down over them. Around the edge of the clearing, a crowd of woodland animals looks on. There are two raccoons with ringed tails, a few small birds perched and flying overhead, a pair of rabbits seen from behind, another rabbit with a tall ear, and a little chipmunk-like animal sitting on the right. Tiny flowers and grass tufts dot the ground. The big shapes on the deer are easy to fill in, and the small animals give older kids some detail work. Try giving the fawn warm brown fur with lighter spots, then use a different color for each bird so they stand out. This free printable also works well for a talk about forest animals and how many kinds you can name.
