First Steps for Baby with a Helping Parent

Wobbling along on a round rug, a smiling baby takes first steps while an adult stands behind, holding both of the baby's raised hands. Only the adult's legs, bare feet and hands show. The baby has a small tuft of wavy hair and wears a long-sleeved top under overalls with a front pocket. The setting is a cozy living room with a cushioned armchair, a potted leafy plant on a small side table and a sofa behind them. A toy train and a pillow sit on the floor in front. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big blue areas: color the sofa and the baby's overalls in sky blue, and the parent's jeans in denim blue, leaving the white socks and white wall untouched.
- 2Fill the parent's shirt at the top with lavender purple, then color the baby's shirt and sleeves golden yellow.
- 3Color the baby's skin in light peach, including the face, neck, hands and feet, and fill the hair with caramel brown.
- 4Color the wooden floor strips and the sofa legs and side table in honey tan and caramel brown, then add the yellow pillow in golden yellow.
- 5Use grass green for the plant leaves, leaving the pot cream, and paint the toy train with green cars, a bright red engine and roof, and a pale blue window.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra denim blue or leaf green shading at the edges of the jeans and train for depth, and keep the baby's eyes and smile white for a bright, happy look.
