Floating Skeleton Holding Sugar Skull Heart Balloons

Coloring guide
Up in the sky floats a smiling little skeleton, holding a bunch of four heart-shaped balloons in one raised hand while the other arm waves out to the side. Every balloon is decorated like a sugar skull, with flower-circle eyes, a tiny nose, a happy mouth and a leafy flourish on top. The skeleton has big round eyes, an open grin, and hearts and swirls on the forehead and cheeks. Ribs, pelvis, legs and feet are drawn in chunky, easy-to-follow shapes. Puffy clouds and simple five-petal flowers fill the background. Bold outlines and generous open spaces are great for younger kids, and the small flower patterns on the balloons give older children details to work on. Try pink, purple and turquoise balloons with bright yellow and orange flower centers, and leave the skeleton white or pale lavender so it stands out against a blue sky. The free PDF is ready to print for kids and coloring fans of all ages. This fits right in with our Sugar Skulls (Día de Muertos) coloring pages — see also Jesus / Bible and Good Friday.

- 2Fill the heart balloons: bright red for the top one, purple for the left one, sky blue for the right one, and golden yellow for the bottom one.
- 3Color the skeleton's skull, arms, legs, ribs, and hands in cream, leaving the big eye whites and teeth white.
- 4Add hot pink to the heart on the forehead and soft pink to the ribbon knot where the strings meet.
- 5Color the balloon strings and the small bit of shadow near the bottom balloon with medium gray and dark brown.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading in a darker shade of each color along the edges of the balloons and bones for more depth.
