A floppy-eared puppy leaps off the ground with both front paws reaching up for a football sailing overhead. Its mouth is open in a happy grin with the tongue hanging out, and a fluffy tail swings behind while the back paws kick up. The pup wears a big striped helmet with a face mask and a loose jersey with stripes on the sleeve. Behind it there's a field goal post, a few puffy bushes and trees, and yard lines across the grass. Lots of large, easy areas make this free printable a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Use your child's favorite team colors on the helmet and jersey, and add brown leather tones to the football's laces. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big red helmet and the bright red jersey, coloring them in with smooth strokes.
- 2Fill the dog's fur parts (face, ears, raised arms, tail, belly and legs) with golden tan, leaving the helmet stripes and sleeve trims white.
- 3Color the grass patches at the bottom and the bushes in the background with grass green.
- 4Add the charcoal gray sleeve stripe, the light gray face bar, and the chocolate brown tip of the football.
- 5Color the tongue soft pink and the red collar and sleeve cuffs bright red, then leave the football laces, face guard and helmet ear hole white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the golden tan fur near the belly and tail to make the puppy look fluffier.
