Martin Luther King Jr. Day Garden Teamwork with Four Kids
Coloring guide
Four children work side by side in a garden bed. A girl with a ponytail stands at the back and tips a watering can, with drops sprinkling down on the plants. Next to her a boy crouches with a small hand trowel. Up front, a boy kneels and lets seeds fall from his open hand into the soil, while a girl in a wide-brimmed sun hat digs with a garden trowel. A wooden picket fence and tall daisy-like flowers stand behind them, and two butterflies flutter overhead. Seedlings poke up from the dirt, a second watering can sits in the corner, and more blooms fill the foreground. This free printable suits a lesson on teamwork and community. Yellow and pink petals against green leaves, with warm brown soil, look cheerful. Love this Martin Luther King Jr. Day coloring page? You might also enjoy our Christmas and Halloween coloring pages.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the background: color the wooden fence and posts honey orange, and fill the lawn, bushes and leafy plants with grass green and lime green.
- 2Color the dirt bed, the path and the soil around the seedlings dark brown, and the raised bed edge light brown, leaving the flower petals white.
- 3Paint the faces, hands and arms light peach, then add dark brown or chocolate brown to the hair of each child.
- 4Dress the kids: the left boy in a red shirt and bright blue jeans, the right boy in a sky blue shirt, the girl in the sun hat in a lavender top and purple overalls, and the ponytail girl in pink with bright blue overalls.
- 5Color the watering cans red and sky blue, the sun hat bright yellow with an orchid band, and the trowels light gray and medium gray. Leave the hair highlight white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading to the soil and the shadows under the children for extra depth.
