A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the picnic blanket and its edges in light blue, and fill the bushes and grass around the trees in grass green and bright green.
- 2Color the boy's shirt and the left girl's pants in sky blue, the girl's shirt in coral pink, and the left girl's top in lilac purple.
- 3Fill the faces, hands and arms in peach skin, the boy's face and arms in tan, and the girl's hair in caramel brown and the boy's hair in dark brown.
- 4Paint the picnic basket in caramel brown with orange straps, then add the apples in tomato red and the boy's cap in tomato red with golden yellow hair.
- 5Color the birds: the top and tree birds in light blue and the bottom bird in soft yellow. Keep the eye whites, cap highlight, plate and white cushion white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of dark brown or chocolate brown on the hair and basket to add depth.
