This cozy gingerbread cottage has a scalloped icing roof with a row of round gumdrops along the top and a snow-capped brick chimney. The arched wooden door has a little heart and a round knob, and two fancy windows are framed in curly frosting. Right above the door you'll spot a peppermint swirl between two icing scrolls and three small buttons. Striped candy-cane pillars stand on each side of the entrance. Out front, a stepping-stone path lined with rounded candy pieces winds past swirly lollipops and peppermint rounds, with little grass tufts and snowy bushes nearby. A few evergreen trees peek out behind the house. Red and white stripes look great on the candy-cane pillars, and warm brown walls will make the pastel gumdrops stand out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the walls, gable, and roof of the cottage with gingerbread brown, leaving the snowy roof edges and window frames white.
- 2Color the round roof bumps, the front door, and the pillars beside the door with bright red, keeping the heart on the door white.
- 3Fill the window panes with golden yellow, then color the trees forest green and the round bushes grass green.
- 4Color the stepping stones on the path light gray, and fill the path candies and lollipop swirls with red, green, orange, and olive brown, leaving the lollipop centers white.
- 5Optional: Add a little shading to the brown walls with a slightly darker brown along one side for extra depth.
