A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big sky-free background: color the grass areas in bright green and the bushes and grass patches in grass green, leaving the empty ground white around the animals.
- 2Fill the girl's overalls in denim blue, including the bib, straps, pockets and the lower legs, then add sky blue to the rolled cuffs.
- 3Color the straw hat in straw yellow with a barn red band, then fill the hay bale and the fence posts and rails with golden ochre and bright green details.
- 4Paint the hen bodies, the girl's hair and the braids in chestnut brown, and fill the house wall in cream white with a barn red roof and chimney.
- 5Color the girl's skin and neck in light peach, leave her shirt, sleeves and the goat and sheep fur white, and add soft pink to the sheep ears and small pale yellow to the goat tail.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the hens and goat with a deeper version of their color, and keep the eye whites, shine spots and the empty ground white.
