Lab Coat Scientist, a Girl Power Pick
Coloring guide
This cheerful girl is deep in an experiment, wearing safety goggles and a lab coat. One hand holds up a bubbling conical flask and the other rests on the lab bench, with small bubbles floating above the glass. Her long wavy ponytail hangs down her back. A microscope sits on her left, a rack of three test tubes stands on her right, and behind her a little potted plant shares a shelf beside a cabinet. Kids who love science experiments will enjoy it, and there's room for both big and tiny coloring spots. Bubbly green liquid in the flask and a different shade in each test tube will make the bench look busy. It's a free printable for science class or a rainy afternoon. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the skin: color the face, neck, hands and ears with a soft peach skin tone, leaving the goggle lenses and the eye whites uncolored.
- 2Color the hair in chestnut brown, adding the ponytail and a small rose pink hair tie at the top.
- 3Fill the lab coat, pocket and sleeves, keeping them white as in the example, and color the purple shirt under the coat in lavender purple.
- 4Paint the flask with bright blue liquid and pale blue bubbles, then add light gray to the microscope arm and base, using royal blue for the bottom base.
- 5Color the test tubes: bright blue on the left, lime green in the middle, and golden yellow on the right, with medium blue for the rack and cabinet top.
- 6Finish with leaf green for the plant leaves and burnt orange for the pot. Optional: add a little darker shading on the lab coat folds and the hair with a slightly deeper tone.
