Two characters share this page. On the left is Greg in his pajamas with his arms stretched out wide, and on the right is his hero alter ego Gekko, flexing both biceps in a proud power pose. Greg's long-sleeve top and matching pants are covered in little lizard-foot prints, and he has a small chest emblem and slip-on shoes. Gekko wears a cape and a round mask with a small crest on top, has a tail curling out behind him, and carries the same emblem on his chest. The page has no background, so your child's imagination can fill the space. Coloring both lets kids see the transformation side by side. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with peach on Greg's face, both hands, wrist, and Gekko's muzzle, leaving the eye whites white.
- 2Fill Greg's pajama top, sleeves, pants, and shoes with sky blue, and use navy blue for the two lenses on his chest emblem.
- 3Color Gekko's head, body, arms, legs, collar, and tail with leaf green, keeping his eye whites white.
- 4Use dark green for Gekko's cape and the shadows under his body and between his legs, then chocolate brown for Greg's hair.
- 5Add lime green to Gekko's head spike and knee patches, and finish the chest emblem with leaf green and lime green.
- 6Optional: add a little extra dark green along the edges of the cape and body for depth.
