Guitar Strumming Cat Under a Tree for Daniel Tiger Fans
Coloring guide
Cross-legged in the grass, a smiling striped kitten strums a small acoustic guitar with its mouth open in a happy song. A big leafy tree trunk and a scalloped canopy fill the top of the page, two butterflies flutter on either side, and flowers and tufts of grass dot the ground. A star, circle, triangle, heart and square float in the margins, so this free printable also doubles as a quick shape-spotting game. The cat's stripes and the guitar give little hands plenty to color. Warm orange fur with chocolate brown stripes looks good, and a red or yellow guitar will pop against the green grass and tree. The chunky outlines are friendly for preschoolers and early elementary kids who like music, animals and outdoor scenes. Kids who like Daniel Tiger coloring pages usually enjoy Wild Kratts and The Greatest Showman too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the cat's fur, the head, arms, legs and tail in tabby orange, leaving the stripes and the cream paws unfilled for now.
- 2Fill the cat's inner ears, open mouth and nose with soft pink, and color the tail tip, belly and both feet in cream.
- 3Color the guitar body and neck in warm tan, then add a dark brown sound hole in the middle of the guitar.
- 4Paint the tree leaves and the flower leaves and stems in leaf green and lime green, and the flower petals in bright red and lavender purple.
- 5Add the shapes: a golden yellow star, a sky blue circle, a bright red triangle, a soft pink heart and a leaf green square. Color the butterflies in lavender purple and golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Add burnt orange stripes on the cat's legs and tail, and leave the eye whites, the tree trunk and the background white for a bright finish.
