A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the large armor areas of the soldier, including the chest, shoulders, arms and gloves, with moss green, leaving the thin white lines between plates untouched.
- 2Color the helmet top, the collar and the main body sections with olive green so the helmet and torso feel connected.
- 3Use charcoal gray for the dark recesses, the lower armor pieces and the rifle barrel, pressing a little harder for the deepest shadows.
- 4Paint the visor lenses with sky blue and leave the small white glints and the highlight streaks inside them white.
- 5Add light gray to the smaller metal details such as the belt buckles, the chest button and the small circular gear, then color the rifle grip and stock with dusty olive.
- 6Optional: Add a few light strokes of warm gray along the edges of the armor to give the figure some depth.
