This friendly cartoon airplane has big sparkly eyes and a wide grin, and it's cruising through the sky with three round baby birds flapping alongside, wings spread out. Look closely and you'll find a striped tail fin, four oval passenger windows, a curved cockpit window and a round engine tucked under the wing. A smiling sun with short rays sits in the top corner next to a fluffy cloud, and more puffy clouds drift along the right side and across the bottom. Everything is drawn large with bold lines, which makes it easy for small hands to stay inside the edges. You could go with sky blue for the plane's body and red or orange for the tail stripes, then use soft yellow on the birds so they pop against the clouds. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the three birds' bodies with soft blue, and their wings and tails with bright blue, leaving the eye whites and beaks uncolored.
- 2Fill the sun's face and all its rays with golden yellow, then color the sun's smile with coral.
- 3Color the lower wing, the top of the tail fin and the right wing tip with deep blue, keeping the fuselage white.
- 4Add the bright red stripes on the tail fin, the left tailplane and the red stripe along the lower wing.
- 5Fill the clouds with pale blue, the cockpit and passenger windows with aqua blue, and the engine with light gray, its rim with steel gray and its center with charcoal. Leave the airplane's rounded body and the eye shines white.
- 6Optional: Add a few light strokes of a darker shade on the bird wings and the lower wing to give them a little depth.
