A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the dog: fill its whole body, both floppy ears, the tail, the raised paws and the forehead with golden orange, leaving the eye whites and the baseball white.
- 2Color the wooden fence planks and the background bushes next: use caramel brown for every fence board and leaf green for the leafy bush, grass patch and small grass tufts.
- 3Fill the boy's shirt and shorts with sky blue and navy blue, then color his hair chestnut brown and his face, arms, neck, hand and legs peach skin.
- 4Add the details: color the baseball bat light tan, the shoes light blue, the dog's collar coral red and its tag golden yellow, and keep the baseball white with its stitches left clean.
- 5Optional: add a few darker strokes of chestnut brown or golden orange along the dog's fur and the boy's hair to give the picture a bit more depth.
