Ponytail Girl Dribbling a Basketball Down the Court
Coloring guide
Running across the court with one hand on the ball, this girl has a long, swishy ponytail and an open-mouthed grin that shows she's having a great time. Her sleeveless jersey has a rounded neckline, and she has on shorts with a scalloped hem, ankle socks and sneakers with chunky laces. A basketball hoop with a net hangs from a backboard on a tall pole behind her, and curved court lines sweep across the floor. The bold, clean outlines and large open spaces make this free printable PDF friendly for small hands, and older kids can put extra detail into the ponytail and net. Purple or sunny yellow would suit the jersey and shorts, and classic orange for the ball will make it stand out against the court. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- golden yellow
- light peach
- chestnut brown
- bright red
- orange
- royal blue
- sky blue
- light pink
- lemon yellow
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big floor and wall areas: fill the gym floor with golden yellow and the back wall stripes with royal blue, leaving the thin court lines and the backboard white.
- 2Color the girl's skin with light peach, including her face, arms, legs and ears, and fill the hair with chestnut brown.
- 3Use bright red for the tank top and shorts, leaving the white trim around the armholes and shorts edges unpainted.
- 4Fill the basketball with orange, then add the black lines on top. Color the sneakers royal blue and leave the soles and white sock details white.
- 5Add small details: color the hair tie lemon yellow, the tongue light pink, and the blue pole sky blue. Keep the hoop net and rim white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the ponytail and under the ball with a deeper shade of the same color for a bit more depth.
