This smiling, fluffy kitten sits upright with its mouth open in a big grin. It wears a cone-shaped party hat covered in polka dots with a pom-pom on top. Next to its front paws is a small round birthday cake with one lit candle, wavy icing drips and a row of dots around the side. Three balloons with little shine marks and curly strings float behind it, along with several twisty paper streamers scattered across the page. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the cat's head, body and tail with orange, leaving the two eye whites white and adding a little burnt orange on the forehead tuft.
- 2Color the inner ears, nose and cheeks pink, and make the tongue coral pink; keep the cream tip at the end of the tail.
- 3Paint the party hat royal blue, then add golden yellow polka dots and a golden yellow pompom on top.
- 4Color the big left balloon red and the small right balloon lime green, leaving the shine spots white and the balloon strings in their matching colors.
- 5Fill the birthday cake: pink frosting on top, pale yellow cake body and plate, coral pink dots, light blue plate edge, and a royal blue striped candle with a golden yellow flame.
- 6Color the curly streamers: purple on the left, golden yellow at the top and bottom left, and red on the right; optional: add a little darker shading on the orange fur.
