Two fluffy kittens are squeezed together on a puffy round cushion, and a small heart floats above their heads. The one in front sits up straight with big shiny eyes, a tiny smiling mouth and long whiskers. Its friend peeks over its shoulder with one paw resting on its back. Both tails curl around the sides of the cushion. There's a wavy cushion outline and soft tufts of fur on the cheeks and chest for little hands to work on. The shapes are big and clear, so this free printable suits preschoolers as well as early elementary kids. Soft orange and cream for one kitten and gray for the other would look sweet, with a bright red or pink heart on top. It also makes a nice handmade Valentine's card or a quiet-time activity. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the cloud cushion under the kittens with sky blue, including its left and right edges, and leave the thin curved highlight lines white.
- 2Fill the ginger kitten's head, body, cheeks and muzzle with warm orange, then color the gray kitten's head, body and chin with light gray.
- 3Keep the gray kitten's paw resting on the ginger kitten's shoulder and the inner belly area between the kittens' legs white so they stand out.
- 4Color the heart floating above the kittens with cherry red.
- 5Paint the inner parts of all four ears with soft pink.
- 6Optional: add a few slightly darker strokes of the same orange and gray along the edges of the bodies and cloud for a bit of depth.
