Happy Puppy Beside a Hamburger on a Picnic Blanket
Coloring guide
A cheerful puppy sits on a checkered picnic blanket, tongue hanging out, looking down at a big hamburger on a plate. The burger has a sesame seed bun, a ruffled lettuce leaf and a slice of cheese. The pup has floppy ears, big shiny eyes, a small tuft of hair on its head and a collar with a round tag, and its tail curls up behind it. A woven picnic basket with a handle and a little clasp sits to the right. The big squares on the blanket leave lots of room for kids to practice staying in the lines. Golden yellow or warm brown works for the puppy, a red and white pattern for the blanket and toasty tan for the bun. - sky blue

- soft pink
- golden yellow
- cherry red

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the dog: color the head, ears, body, paws, and tail with warm tan, leaving the two eye whites and the bright shine spots white.
- 2Color the picnic basket: use warm tan for the lid and handle and caramel brown for the woven body, leaving the small gap in the handle white.
- 3Fill the picnic blanket with coral red, skipping every other square so the white squares stay bare, and keep the background white.
- 4Build the hamburger: warm tan for the top and bottom buns, leaf green for the lettuce, golden yellow for the cheese, and dark brown for the patty with rust orange at its edges.
- 5Finish with the details: cherry red for the collar, golden yellow for the tag, soft pink for the tongue, and sky blue for the plate.
- 6Optional: add a little shading by layering a slightly darker shade of each color along one side of the dog and the basket.
