Puppy Dog Enjoying a Car Window Ride
Coloring guide
This cheerful puppy hangs out of a car window with a big smile and its tongue dangling, long floppy ears blowing back in the breeze. Both front paws rest on the bottom edge of the open window, and the side mirror and part of the door handle are visible. Out the window you can see a winding road with dashed center lines, rolling hills, round bushy trees and puffy clouds. The puppy's large face, with round eyes and a heart-shaped nose, is easy for small hands to fill in. Preschoolers and early elementary kids who like bigger spaces will enjoy this free printable. Golden yellow or warm brown fur, a pink tongue and a bright blue car look great, plus fresh greens for the trees and hills. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the puppy's fur in golden yellow: the head, ears, neck, and both paws, leaving the eye whites and teeth white.
- 2Color the car body in bright red, including the front, the door, and the side panels, then fill the side mirror frame in the same red.
- 3Fill the car window area and door handle in charcoal gray, and color the wheel bottom in light gray.
- 4Color the puppy's nose dark brown, the tongue coral pink, and the tree trunk tan brown.
- 5Fill the hills and trees with leaf green, grass green, and forest green, color the bushes and far right green, and paint the cloud and mirror glass sky blue, keeping the road white.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading with a darker shade of each color on the shadowed sides of the puppy and the car for more depth.
