In the middle of this page stands a cartoon volcano with big round eyes and a wide open smile. A wavy blob of lava drips over the crater rim and runs down one side. Overhead, a round sun with short rays peeks out between two puffy clouds, and grass tufts, bushes and a few smooth rocks sit around the base at the bottom. Everything is large with bold, clean outlines, so little hands can color without much fuss. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the sun's center and all its rays with golden yellow, keeping the rays separate from the circle.
- 2Color both clouds sky blue, leaving the outlines bold and clean.
- 3Color the volcano body warm brown, then fill the bushes with grass green and the rocks with light gray.
- 4Color the lava along the top, down the right side, and at the drip tips with bright orange, and fill the crater rim with dark brown.
- 5Fill the open mouth with soft pink, leaving the smile teeth and both eye whites white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker brown strokes along the volcano body to make it look more textured.
