Happy Watermelon Slice With Big Eyes and Buck Teeth

A cheerful watermelon wedge grins out from the page, with two large round eyes that each have a big shine spot and a smaller dot, plus two little triangle eyebrows floating above. The wide open smile shows two big front teeth and a tongue at the bottom. Oval seeds are scattered along the curved lower part of the fruit and up the right side, and the thick rind is drawn with several curved lines along the outside edge. The shapes are large and the outlines are clean, so this works well for younger kids who are still building control with crayons. Try pink or red for the flesh, two shades of green for the rind, and black or brown for the seeds. You could also ask children to count the seeds before they color them in. This free printable also makes a good summer snack time activity.
